The Yamaha GC1 (and its modern variant, the GC1M) is a highly popular 5'3" (161 cm) baby grand piano that bridges the gap between entry-level budget models and premium conservatory instruments.
The defining philosophy of the GC1 is that it combines the advanced acoustic scaling and duplex scale architecture of the famous Yamaha C Series with cost-saving methods in production and materials. Crucially, unlike the entry-level 5'0" GB1K which is built in Indonesia, the Yamaha GC1 is manufactured at Yamaha's premier piano production facility in Japan
